Important Medical & Nutrition Safety Note

In the naturopathic way we don't chase a diagnosis — we build up the whole terrain: nourishment, water, rest, movement, and peace. And we do it honestly, hand-in-hand with your doctors.

This package is educational nutrition support. It is not medical advice, a diagnosis, cancer treatment, or an instruction to change any medication. Good nutrition can support your strength, energy, and ability to tolerate treatment — but no food, tea, herb, supplement, or meal plan can treat or cure cancer.

Deborah, you shared that you sought three doctors' opinions and that one physician diagnosed invasive ductal carcinoma; you also shared that the swelling after your breast biopsy has decreased, and that your clinicians have recommended chemotherapy and radiation. This plan records that information exactly as you reported it — nothing here confirms, expands, or disputes it, and nothing here recommends delaying, replacing, or refusing oncology care. Your oncology team leads; this plan walks beside them.

Before you begin, please bring this package — including the one-meal-per-day pattern, the very-low-carbohydrate pattern, and the complete supplement table — to your oncologist, an oncology registered dietitian, and your pharmacist. The one-meal-a-day pattern is provisional and needs their approval, especially if treatment begins, appetite drops, weight changes, nausea develops, or eating becomes difficult. The Treatment-Day Flex Plan always takes priority over the standard schedule when your care team says so.

Never stop or change a prescription on your own. If your clinician decides a medication can be reduced, that decision and its timing belong entirely to them.

Not a zero-carb diet. "No carbs" is applied responsibly here as a very-low-carbohydrate pattern: non-starchy vegetables stay on the plate because they carry the fiber, minerals, and vitamins her body needs. No grains, flour products, potatoes, corn, rice, quinoa, juice, added sugars, or caloric sweeteners appear anywhere in this plan. This is not a prescribed therapeutic ketogenic diet — that would require approval from her oncology team and an oncology registered dietitian.

One Page, One Rhythm

MASTER DAILY SCHEDULE

Nature loves rhythm — the same calm pattern every standard day, so the body always knows what is coming. Early light, warm morning tea, water like a river through the day, one beautiful meal on nature's clock, and deep sleep for repair. Practitioner-protocol items keep the timing written in their own source directions and are not nutrition advice — every one is pending oncology and pharmacy review before use.

TimeCategoryWhat Happens
6:30–7:00 AMHydrationRise with morning light. Drink a full glass of plain water. The practitioner protocol's Celtic-salt morning water appears in the practitioner table — salted water needs clinician review first.

64 Complete Recipes

Your Recipe Library

Because Deborah eats one main meal per day, the breakfast-, lunch-, and snack-style recipes below are swap options and Treatment-Day Flex options — not automatic extra daily meals. Every recipe honors the exclusions: organic only; no chicken, tilapia, or shellfish; no added sugar or caloric sweeteners; no grains, flour products, potatoes, corn, rice, quinoa, juice, or sweetened drinks. Packaged items marked label check must be verified for hidden sugar, starch, chicken broth, or shellfish ingredients.

Breakfast-Style Options (B1–B16)

Gentle morning-format dishes for Flex days or as the main meal in a smaller window.

B1 · Garden Veggie Omelet with Avocado

Prep 10 min · Cook 8 min · 1 serving

Why it fits Deborah's plan: Protein-forward, gentle, and quick — a soft-texture option for lower-appetite mornings on Flex days.

Ingredients

  • 3 organic eggs
  • 1 cup organic spinach
  • 1/4 cup diced organic sweet pepper
  • 2 Tbsp diced organic onion
  • 1 Tbsp organic olive oil
  • 1/2 organic avocado, sliced
  • Black pepper, thyme

Steps

  1. Sauté onion and pepper in olive oil until soft; add spinach until wilted.
  2. Pour in beaten eggs, cook gently over low heat, fold.
  3. Serve topped with sliced avocado and black pepper.

Storage: Best fresh; keeps refrigerated up to 1 day. Batch note: Chop vegetables ahead during weekly prep.

Estimated nutrition per serving: Calories 420 · Protein 20g · Total fat 34g · Sat fat 7g · Total carb 10g · Fiber 6g · Net carb 4g · Total sugars 3g · Added sugars 0g · Sodium 220mg. Values are estimates and vary by brand and portion.

Substitution: Swap spinach for callaloo or kale.
Treatment-tolerance note: For mouth tenderness, cook eggs soft and skip raw pepper.

B2 · Smoked Wild Salmon & Avocado Plate

Prep 5 min · Cook 0 min · 1 serving

Why it fits Deborah's plan: No-cook protein plate for low-energy days; healthy fats support calorie adequacy.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 organic avocado
  • 1 cup organic cucumber rounds
  • 1 tsp capers (label check)
  • Lemon wedge, olive oil drizzle

How This Plan Nourishes

Nutrition Information

The naturopathic kitchen keeps it simple: protein to rebuild, good fats for steady fire, vegetables for the quiet mineral work, water for the rivers — and nothing refined, sweetened, or processed taking up space on the plate.

Protein, First and Always

Every main meal is built around a generous protein anchor — wild-caught finfish (never tilapia), organic eggs, or organic turkey (Confirm with Deborah). During cancer treatment the body's protein needs often rise; the National Cancer Institute notes many people need extra protein and calories to hold strength. Eat the protein portion of the meal first on low-appetite days.

Fats Carry the Calories

With grains and starches off the plate, olive oil, avocado, nuts, seeds, coconut, and fatty fish supply steady energy so a single daily meal can still be adequate. Do not trim fat from these recipes without dietitian guidance — on this pattern, fat is fuel.

Vegetables Do the Quiet Work

Non-starchy vegetables provide fiber for bowel regularity plus potassium, magnesium, folate, and vitamins C and K. They stay on the plate on purpose — this is a very-low-carbohydrate pattern, not a no-vegetable pattern.

Hydration, Gently

Water, plain team-approved herbal tea, and the chia-lemon cooler keep fluids up without juice or sweetened drinks. Individual daily fluid targets are Pending oncology dietitian confirmation — kidney, heart, blood-pressure, and treatment factors change the right number.

What We Deliberately Left Out

No added sugar or caloric sweeteners (including honey, maple syrup, and agave), no "sugar-free dessert" framing, no refined carbohydrates, grains, bread, pasta, cereal, flour products, potatoes, corn, rice, quinoa, juice, or sweetened beverages. And no fasting, cleanse-fasting, or severe calorie restriction — those are unsafe to self-prescribe in this season.

Numbers Still Pending

Exact calorie, protein, fluid, sodium, and micronutrient targets require her height, labs, kidney function, medication list, and treatment plan — they are marked Pending oncology dietitian confirmation rather than invented here.

🧼 Food Safety for a Possibly Immune-Sensitive Season

Wash hands and boards before and between tasks · scrub all produce under running water · keep raw fish and poultry on separate boards from vegetables · cook fish until it flakes and turkey to 165°F · refrigerate leftovers within 1 hour and date every container · when in doubt, throw it out. If Deborah's oncology team issues specific food-safety instructions (for example during low-white-count periods), those instructions replace these general reminders. This plan does not invent medical neutropenic-diet rules.

🆘 Treatment-Day Backup Plan (keep stocked)

  • 2 cups frozen turkey-vegetable soup and 1 frozen lasagna portion
  • 3 tins sardines or wild salmon + fresh avocado
  • Chia pudding jar and unsweetened coconut milk
  • Vegetable broth for the egg-ribbon sipper (B14)
  • Pre-boiled eggs — the universal 2-minute protein
Swap With Confidence

Allergy, Preference & Treatment-Tolerance Substitutions

No allergies are on file for Deborah — none are invented here. Any substitution made because of a suspected allergy or intolerance should be reviewed with her clinician or dietitian.

SituationApproved swap
FishAny wild finfish swaps for any other (never tilapia, never shellfish): snapper ↔ cod ↔ halibut ↔ trout ↔ salmon ↔ mackerel ↔ sardines.
EggsReplace with canned wild salmon/sardines, extra fish portion, or turkey (Confirm with Deborah). For binding in cakes/fritters: 1 Tbsp ground flax + 3 Tbsp water per egg.
TurkeyReplace with any allowed fish, or egg-based mains. All turkey items are already marked Confirm with Deborah.
Dairy (feta, ricotta)All dairy is optional and marked Confirm with Deborah. Swap feta → olives; ricotta → blended tofu (Confirm — soy) or cashew cream.
NutsNut-free: swap almond flour → ground sunflower seeds; almond butter → tahini or sunflower butter; walnuts → pumpkin seeds. Label any allergy-driven change for clinician/dietitian review.
SeedsSeed-free: swap chia/hemp/flax textures for finely chopped nuts or simply omit; use egg to bind fritters.
Cruciferous vegetablesCabbage ↔ broccoli ↔ cauliflower ↔ Brussels sprouts ↔ kale. If gas or bloating: cook longer, portion smaller, favor zucchini and green beans.
Leafy greensCallaloo ↔ spinach ↔ collards ↔ kale ↔ chard ↔ arugula. Cooked greens are gentler than raw.
AvocadoReplace richness with olive-oil drizzle, tahini, or olives.
SpicesIf tastes turn metallic or flat: lean on lemon/lime, fresh herbs, and ginger; pull back pepper-heat. A pinch more acid often revives flavor safely.
High-cost organic itemsFrozen organic vegetables and greens are equally worthy; canned wild fish stretches the budget; buy the 'clean-15' style items conventional only if her team approves — otherwise prioritize organic for the most-eaten items.
NauseaCool, low-smell foods: B5 smoothie, B6 chia pudding, S13 rolls, D2 broth first. Ginger tea if team-approved. Small amounts, slowly.
Mouth sorenessSoft & smooth: L5 and L10 blended soups, B10 avocado eggs, B6 pudding, well-steamed everything; avoid acid, salt-forward, crunchy, or very hot foods.
Taste changesSwitch proteins (fish ↔ eggs ↔ turkey), serve food lukewarm, use bright herbs; try new-to-her recipes where no 'old taste' expectation exists.
ConstipationMore fluids through the day, chia and flax, cooked greens and okra, gentle walking as cleared; tell the care team if it persists — do not self-treat with laxative teas.
DiarrheaBroth-based meals, soft peeled vegetables, smaller portions; pause high-fat dishes briefly; hydrate steadily and call the team if it repeats.
Poor appetiteProtein first, calories in liquids (smoothie, coconut milk), smaller-plate servings, eat by the clock during the window — and activate the Flex Plan.
FatigueNo-cook plates: L2, L15, B2, S-series. Use the freezer stash. Ask family to run the weekly prep session with her.

Supplement & Herbal Integration Schedule

Existing Practitioner Protocol — Must Be Reviewed With Deborah's Oncologist and Pharmacist Before Use, Especially Before Chemotherapy, Radiation, Surgery, or Prescription Changes.

The directions below are extracted exactly from Deborah's existing Mayan Botanicals handout. Nothing has been added, re-dosed, or re-purposed, and none of these products is presented as treating cancer. Herbs, teas, antioxidants, foods, and supplements can interact with cancer drugs, anesthesia, and radiation, and can change how safe or effective treatment is — which is why every row is marked pending until her oncology team and pharmacist review it. The source handout also contains a 3-day water-fast section; it has not been carried into this nutrition package (see Conflicts in the clinician checklist).

When Things Wobble

Troubleshooting Guide

The rule underneath every row: her oncology team's instructions and adequate nutrition always outrank strict adherence to the meal pattern.

ChallengeWhat to do
Low appetiteEat protein first; use the smaller-plate trick; drink calories (B5 smoothie); keep the window but shrink the portion; activate the Flex Plan; tell the team if it lasts more than 2–3 days.
NauseaCool, low-smell foods; broth first, solids second; ginger tea if team-approved; small sips and bites; sit upright after eating; report repeated vomiting promptly.
Taste changesRotate proteins; lukewarm temperatures; lemon/lime brightness; plastic utensils can help a metallic taste; try never-before-tried recipes.
Mouth tendernessBlended soups (L5, L10), chia pudding, avocado dishes; avoid acid, crunch, heat, and salt-forward items; ask the team about mouth-care rinses.
ConstipationSteady fluids, chia/flax daily, cooked greens and okra, walking as cleared; report if 3+ days without relief — do not add laxative herbs on your own.
DiarrheaBroth-based meals, soft peeled vegetables, smaller low-fat portions for a day or two, steady sips; report repeated episodes the same day.
FatigueUse the freezer stash and no-cook plates; ask family to cook the calendar's recipe; sit to prep; let 'good enough' be good enough.
Hard to keep the one-meal scheduleThat is information, not failure. Use the Flex Plan's smaller multi-meal structure and tell the oncology dietitian — the pattern must serve her, not the reverse.
CravingsCompliant comforts: S8 kale chips (salty-crisp), S9 coconut chips, B6 pudding (creamy), deviled eggs (rich). Cravings often signal under-eating at the main meal — check portions.
Organic food availabilityFrozen organic produce counts fully; canned wild fish counts fully; shop farmers' markets late-day for deals; substitute the same-family vegetable that IS available organic.
Budget pressureEggs, sardines, cabbage, frozen greens, and seasonal vegetables are the value backbone; cook the soup recipes; buy whole fish when cheaper and ask the counter to fillet it.
Meal-prep overwhelmDo only the 3 starred basics: boil eggs, one soup, one dressing. A 20-minute session still changes the week.
Unplanned weight lossCall the oncology dietitian promptly. Meanwhile: add olive oil and avocado to everything, use the smoothie between-meal if the team approves extra intake, and switch to Flex.
Not enough protein or caloriesPriority order is protein → calories → pattern. If the one-meal window cannot hold enough food, the pattern changes — with the team — before nutrition suffers.
Signs the plan needs clinician reviewAny red-flag symptom; weight dropping; two weeks of poor appetite; treatment start or change; new medications; labs that concern the team. Bring the clinician checklist to that visit.
This Section Outranks the Schedule

Treatment-Day Flex Plan

When this plan activates, it takes priority over the one-meal-per-day pattern and the before-5-PM rule. Activate it whenever Deborah's oncology team advises more frequent intake — or whenever appetite drops, weight decreases, weakness appears, or treatment side effects interfere with eating. The goal on those days is simple: enough protein, enough calories, enough fluid, foods she can tolerate.

The Flex Structure

4–6 small eatings spread across the day instead of one meal — each anchored by protein. Example: morning chia pudding (B6) · midday broth sipper with egg (B14) · afternoon smoothie (B5) · early-evening soup cup (L14 or L5) · bedtime-window snack only if the team advises evening intake.

Best Flex Foods

  • Blended soups: L5 cauliflower, L10 broccoli-almond
  • Broth + egg ribbons: B14
  • Smoothie: B5 · Pudding: B6
  • Soft plates: B10, L15, D2 broth-first
  • Freezer stash: turkey-vegetable soup, lasagna portion, salmon cakes

Flex-Day Rules

  • Protein first at every small eating
  • Sip fluids between (not instead of) eatings
  • Small portions, no pressure, repeat often
  • Track what worked in the daily tracker
  • Report ongoing poor intake to the team within 2–3 days

Next Steps & Clinician-Review Checklist

Deborah's First Five Steps

  1. Book the review: bring this package (and the separate clinician checklist PDF) to her oncologist, an oncology registered dietitian, and her pharmacist.
  2. Confirm the pending items: one-meal pattern, very-low-carb pattern, supplement table, fluid guidance.
  3. Answer the "Confirm with Deborah" items: turkey? dairy? berries? smoked fish?
  4. Do the Week 1 shop and the 60–90 minute prep session.
  5. Begin Day 1 — and use the tracker from the very first evening.

What the Clinician Checklist Covers

  • One-meal-per-day approval · very-low-carbohydrate pattern approval
  • Calorie & protein adequacy · hydration and any fluid restrictions
  • Kidney, heart, blood-pressure, electrolyte, and diabetes considerations
  • Current medications · the full herb/supplement list · potential treatment interactions
  • Surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation timing · food-safety precautions
  • Symptoms that require plan modification
